"It was all a dream!"
The journey of Ncedo Gcanga—widely known as Chef Webbie—began in the heart of the Eastern Cape in Engcobo. His culinary foundation wasn’t built in a classroom, but in the warmth of his mother’s kitchen. Watching her reimagine traditional meals and transform simple, fresh vegetables into “imintwane” (a boiled vegetable mix), Ncedo learned early on that food was about innovation and connection. His childhood Saturdays were defined by the aroma of freshly baked bread and savory tomato-and-sausage breakfasts, sparking a passion that would eventually take him across the globe.
